A richly layered composition of aged paper, handwritten annotations, vintage postage stamps, postal cancellations and customs labels, it has all the visual appeal of an intriguing historical collage.

The parcel originated from Bertram Dobell, bookseller of Charing Cross Road, London, and was addressed to a recipient in New York.
